About The Position
The 4th Floor Surgery Med Surg Unit is a 45-bed unit that specializes in the safe delivery of comprehensive preoperative and post-operative care as well as adult and geriatric medical care. This unit cares for an eclectic variety of patients, including adults of all ages, with a significant number of hip and knee surgeries. The physical therapy team works closely with RNs. The unit aims to run the floor with a charge nurse who does not have patients, ensuring they are always available to answer questions.
Requirements
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
Responsibilities
- Provide and coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process.
- Deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
- Utilize evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and communication skills.
- Lead efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
