About The Position

The 4th Floor Surgery Med Surg Unit is a 45-bed unit that specializes in the safe delivery of comprehensive preoperative and post-operative care as well as adult and geriatric medical care. This unit cares for a variety of patients, including adults of all ages, with a focus on hip and knee surgeries. The physical therapy team works closely with RNs. The unit aims to run the floor with a charge nurse who does not have patients, ensuring they are always available to answer questions.

Requirements

• Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
• Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
• Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and communication skills while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
