About The Position
Timmons Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Project Engineer I candidate for their Raleigh, NC office's Transportation Design group. This role is an entry-level position for individuals ready to start their civil engineering career with a company that emphasizes innovation, collaboration, and professional growth. Requirements
- A bachelor’s or master's degree in civil engineering or a closely related degree with coursework in transportation/traffic preferred
- EIT preferred
- Experience with Bentley OpenRoads Designer and/or AutoDesk Civil 3D (preferred)
- Familiarity with VDOT standards and procedures (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Design horizontal alignments and vertical profiles for roadway widening and improvement projects
- Develop 3D models and plans using AutoDesk Civil 3D and/or Bentley OpenRoads Designer
- Create visualizations for client and public presentations using 3D software
- Prepare detailed plan sheets and complete project submission packages
- Perform roadway and drainage calculations using engineering software and reference materials
- Assist in preparing engineering and construction cost estimates
- Research and utilize open-source GIS data for project planning
- Conduct field observations and data collection to support design discussions
- Stay current with emerging technologies to enhance team capabilities
- Participate in client and contractor meetings to support project delivery
