About The Position

Registered Nurses in Labor and Delivery provide the highest quality of care to our diverse patient population. Our L&D team has a strong quality improvement focus and our nurses are always developing unique solutions for their patients. As a Labor and Delivery nurse you will play an integral role in delivering exceptional care. Using our patient-centered care model you will be uplifted by a supportive nursing organization and will be able to deliver the excellent care to your patients that they deserve. This is a comprehensive new graduate nurse transition to practice program incorporating the Nurse of the Future Nursing Core Competencies. New graduate nurses are hired into the institution in cohorts, and progress through nursing orientation together. New Graduates can expect individualized education with preceptors on their units, further enhanced with a series of educational learning, fostering opportunity for mentorship, comradery, and experiential learning. The role is designated for nurses who encompass nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients and their families across the health care continuum. The registered nurse is accountable for clinical, educational, quality, and fiscal patient care outcomes using the model of care designed by the nursing department and following established agency policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines, and standards of practice.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with an associate’s degree or Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN).
Active BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification
Licensed as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts
Graduated from nursing school within twelve (12) months before their date of hire.

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred.
Candidates who do not have a BSN must enroll in a Baccalaureate program one year from date of hire and must complete their BSN by the end of the semester in which the four-year anniversary of employment at BMC occurs.
