The H70 Orthopedic Unit is a 34-bed medical surgical unit with telemetry monitoring capacity specializing in caring for adult post-operative orthopedic patients, including those recovering from total hip, knee, and shoulder arthroplasty, revision surgeries, fractures, sarcoma resection, joint infections, osteomyelitis, avascular necrosis and other complex orthopedic conditions. In addition to orthopedic patients, the unit also provides care for overflow patients from areas such as General Internal Medicine, the Neurological Institute and Department of General Surgery. We are seeking a compassionate, self-motivated, adaptable RN who is an effective communicator, demonstrates strong time-management skills, and is committed to delivering excellent patient-centered care.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR American Red Cross
- New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience

- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
Responsibilities
- Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
- Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
- Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
- Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
- Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
- Document in patients’ medical records.
