About The Position

Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital is a Magnet Hospital awarded by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. The Coronary Care Unit cares for adult and geriatric patients with acute and chronic diagnoses, such as acute coronary syndrome/MI, potential lethal arrhythmias, pulmonary edema/complicated CHF, hemodynamic instability of a cardiac origin and post-cardiac arrest. The Coronary Care Unit has a dynamic work environment with an active Unit Shared Governance Council that organizes community outreach programs. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care by interacting directly with patients, families, and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. This position requires a caregiver who is empathetic, understanding and nurturing to ensure quality patient care and effective life-saving treatment.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross upon hire or within one year of employment
• New grad or less than one year RN work experience or if experience RN moving from non-inpatient to acute direct care clinical inpatient setting with less than one-year current acute direct patient care RN experience

Responsibilities

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
• Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document in patients’ medical records
