About The Position

Begin your nursing career in a new, specialized area of oncology nursing at the forefront of advanced cancer care. The Cellular Therapeutics Unit is a rapidly growing specialty focused on innovative treatments that use a patient’s own cells or specially prepared cells as part of their care. As a nurse on this team, you’ll provide complex clinical care throughout the treatment process, including preparation, administration, and monitoring of highly advanced therapies. The unit also focuses on bispecific therapies, including ready-to-administer treatments designed to target a patient’s immune T-cells and cancer cells. This emerging area of care supports patients with blood cancers and other oncology diagnoses, as well as other complex diseases as new therapies continue to expand. It’s an opportunity to develop specialized oncology knowledge while providing education, support, and expert care to patients and families throughout their treatment journey. You’ll also have the opportunity to build meaningful, long-term relationships with patients and families while growing your nursing career in a cutting-edge specialty.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • New grad or less than one year RN work experience or if experience RN moving from non-inpatient to acute direct care clinical inpatient setting with less than one-year current acute direct patient care RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Cancer experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
  • Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
  • Document in patients’ medical records.
