About The Position

This role is for a New Grad RN in Acute Care. Med-Surg nursing is described as the backbone of every hospital, demanding passion, mental toughness, and strong nursing skills. The role involves being on the front line of care, getting to know patients, and handling various patient needs and requests. It requires a range of nursing skills and is characterized by a dynamic environment with "never-a-dull-moment". The position is hands-on and diverse, seeking individuals with experience, knowledge, skills, empathy, and compassion.

Requirements

Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana and as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

Responsibilities

Prioritizing, coordinating, and delegating all care touchpoints for patients.
Collaborating with multidisciplinary team members to ensure appropriate direct patient care.
Maintaining and advocating for a safe environment for everyone.
Monitoring and engaging with patients, families, and appropriate care team members concerning significant events, patient condition changes, or patient questions and concerns.
Preventing and treating wounds.
Monitoring and executing Joint Commission infection control and environment of care requirements.
Ensuring continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communications, and an exceptional experience for every patient.
Advising and consulting with supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.
Initiating patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum of care services.
Assisting others without being asked to contribute to the team.
