Reporting to the Program Representative, the Outreach Representative will have a key role in establishing and nurturing relationships that contribute to EIP's mission. Key objectives include: · Community Engagement: Develop and implement outreach strategies to engage communities in energy efficiency and environmental justice initiatives that raise awareness of services available through utility energy efficiency programs. · Partnership Development: Collaborate with local organizations, government agencies, utility customers, and stakeholders to foster partnerships that generate participation in utility energy efficiency programs. · Utility Customer Engagement: Conduct outreach to utility commercial and industrial customers, recruiting their participation in strategic energy management, new construction, and other training and incentive programs. · Trade Ally Recruitment: Identify, engage, and onboard trade allies or service providers that sell and install energy-efficient equipment. · Educational Initiatives: Organize and participate in educational events, workshops, and presentations to promote understanding and involvement in sustainable practices. · Relationship Management: Maintain positive relationships with community partners, utility customers, trade allies, and stakeholders, collaborating closely to achieve mutual goals. · Special Project Management: The outreach Representative may be assigned special projects from time to time, including managing administrative processes and development of tools and marketing material required to support program implementation. The Outreach Representative will have the following responsibilities: · Outreach Strategy: Execute outreach plans to engage communities, businesses, and potential partners to inform them about utility client program offerings, and drive participation. · Partnership Building: Establish connections with local organizations, government agencies, utility customers, trade allies, and stakeholders to raise awareness and drive participation in programs. · Utility Customer Engagement: Conduct outreach to utility commercial and industrial customers, promoting their involvement in strategic energy management, new construction, and other programs. · Trade Ally Recruitment: Identify, approach, and collaborate with trade allies or service providers that sell and install energy-efficient equipment to raise awareness of programs. · Event Management: Plan and coordinate educational events, workshops, and presentations that promote utility energy efficiency program offerings and recruit participants. · Communication: Effectively communicate our utility client’s program offerings, goals, and values through various mediums, including social media, newsletters, community meetings, interactions with utility customers, and trade ally communications. · Community Liaison: Serve as a liaison between EIP, local communities, utility customers, trade allies, and stakeholders, addressing concerns, answering questions, and fostering open dialogue. · Data Management: Maintain accurate records of outreach efforts, partnerships, community interactions, utility customer engagement, and trade ally engagement. · Feedback Collection: Gather feedback from communities, utility customers, trade allies, and stakeholders to refine outreach strategies and align program offerings with their needs. · Project Management: Work closely with internal teams to scope special projects and manage development and administration of systems, tools, marketing materials, and other projects that support program implementation.

Requirements

  • bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in community outreach, partnership development, or a related outreach or sales role.
  • Proven ability to build and nurture relationships with diverse community stakeholders, utility customers, and trade allies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills to plan and execute successful outreach initiatives.
  • A genuine passion for sustainable practices, environmental justice, community engagement, utility customer participation, and trade ally collaboration.

Nice To Haves

  • Architecture, Development, or Commercial Construction Industry. Knowledge of Philadelphia region
  • Familiarity with the utility industry, commercial and industrial customers, energy management programs, and trade ally dynamics.
  • Experiencing connecting with customers and/or partners via telephone and electronic media to generate prospects.
  • Experience in organizing and executing events, workshops, or educational programs.
  • Experience in identifying, recruiting, and collaborating with trade allies or service providers, such as mechanical, electrical, and plumbing contractors.
  • Proficiency in leveraging social media platforms for outreach, engagement, and trade ally recruitment.
