About The Position

Moody Insurance Agency, Inc. is seeking a skilled individual in commercial insurance who enjoys marketing the new business placement process with carriers to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in marketing or account management within small to mid-size agencies. The specialist will work alongside the Chief Risk Officer to oversee the entire new business marketing process, collaborating with Commercial Lines producers to compile data for submissions, negotiate terms and conditions with carriers, and prepare proposals. Responsibilities also include binding coverage, updating systems, preparing premium finance applications, and ensuring a smooth transition to the Commercial Lines department. The role involves regular communication with underwriters and insurance company marketing representatives to discuss growth strategies and new opportunities, as well as pursuing attractive markets and programs. The specialist will also negotiate and monitor business objectives and contingency arrangements.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ Commercial Lines insurance experience required.
  • Previous experience in sales, Commercial Lines account management or marketing role strongly desired.
  • Demonstrated broad knowledge of Commercial Insurance coverages.
  • Property & Casualty License or ability to attain within 30 days.
  • Outstanding consulting, sales and negotiating skills.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CRM, CIC, CPCU, or ARM designations strongly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the entire new business marketing process in collaboration with the Chief Risk Officer.
  • Compile data required for new business submissions direct to the carrier(s) and business type in collaboration with the Commercial Lines producer.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with the carrier to create a detailed proposal to review and finalize with the producer.
  • Assist the producer in the presentation with the client as needed.
  • Bind coverage for new customers.
  • Update applications in the system.
  • Prepare premium finance applications.
  • Coordinate effectively with the assigned account manager to ensure a successful transition from Marketing to the Commercial Lines department.
  • Communicate regularly with underwriters and insurance company marketing representatives to discuss growth strategies and new opportunities.
  • Actively pursue any markets or programs that are attractive to producer participation.
  • Negotiate and monitor business objectives and contingency arrangements.
