About The Position

Responsible for opening new checking, savings, certificates of deposits and safe deposit accounts for individuals, businesses, and organizations. Will also be responsible for updating and making changes to accounts as necessary. Will also function as a Paying & Receiving Teller and be responsible for accurate and efficient performance of a wide variety of teller functions for Bank customers and potential customers. Will also assist with Safe Deposit customers. Prefer bi-lingual (English/Spanish).

Requirements

• High School Diploma
• Prior knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer services
• Proficient with computers and software programs including Word, and Excel
• Ability to use 10-Key by touch

Nice To Haves

• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish)
• Prior banking experience preferred but not required
• Prior experience in handling money is preferred

Responsibilities

• Open new checking and/or savings accounts.
• Interview customers in order to obtain information needed for opening accounts or renting safe-deposit boxes.
• Refer customers to appropriate bank personnel in order to meet their financial needs.
• Answer customers' questions, and explain available services such as deposit accounts, bonds, CD's and IRA's.
• Investigate and correct errors upon customers' request, according to customer and bank records.
• Perform teller duties as required.
• Compile information about new accounts, enter account information into computers and file related forms or other documents.
• Issue initial and replacement safe-deposit keys to customers, and admit customers to vaults.
• Inform customers of procedures for applying for services such as ATM cards, direct deposit of choices and certificates of deposit.
• Represents the bank in a courteous and professional manner.
• Delivers prompt efficient and accurate service to all bank customers.
• Follows appropriate bank, regulatory and legal requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned within their capabilities as determined by management.
