About The Position

Join Intermountain Health, a nationally recognized health system, and help create a Neuroscience Center of Excellence at Lutheran Medical Center. The role supports a neurosurgeon's practice at Wheat Ridge Clinic and assists with surgical cases at Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado. The position works five days per week, Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with call coverage for the neurosurgeon approximately 7–8 days per month, including weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays. The practice has a growing primary care referral base within Intermountain Health Medical Group. Prior neurosurgery and/or orthopedic spine surgery advanced practice provider experience is ideal. Intermountain supports caregivers with benefits, paid time off, license reimbursement, malpractice insurance coverage, and an annual CME allowance. The position requires an APRN or PA-C degree from an accredited program, an active and unobstructed Colorado medical license or the ability to obtain one, BLS certification, DEA, and successful completion of Intermountain Health's credentialing process. The role involves reading and assessing patient and equipment information, communicating with patients and care providers, using delicate equipment and computers, and transferring or assisting with the movement of patients and supplies. It may require extended standing and navigating busy clinical spaces.

Requirements

APRN or PA-C degree from an accredited program.
Active, unobstructed Colorado medical license, or the ability to obtain one.
BLS certification and DEA.
Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health's credentialing process.

Responsibilities

Support a neurosurgeon's practice at Wheat Ridge Clinic.
Assist in surgical cases at Intermountain Health Lutheran Hospital in Wheat Ridge, Colorado.
Provide call coverage in support of the neurosurgeon approximately 7–8 days per month, including weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Assess patient needs and operate or identify monitors, equipment, and supplies.
Communicate with patients, visitors, and patient care providers, including responding to spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues.
Use manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment and document patient care using computers.
Transfer and assist with transporting or ambulating patients, and retrieve, carry, and distribute supplies and equipment.
