About The Position

Mercyhealth, an award-winning fully integrated health care delivery organization based in Wisconsin and Illinois, is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our well-established Neurosurgery practice in Janesville, WI. Opportunity: Provide quality health care services to patients in the clinic and hospital setting under the direction and supervision of department neurosurgeons by performing the following duties in a compassionate and cost-effective manner. Examine patients, perform comprehensive physical examinations, and compile patient medical data, including health history and results of examination in both hospital and clinic settings. Administer and/or order appropriate diagnostic tests, laboratory tests appropriate for neurosurgical patients and interpret test results for deviations from normal. Perform therapeutic procedures including suture removal and wound care management. Develop and implement patient management plans, record progress notes, complete discharge summaries, and assist in provision of continuity of care. Assist neurosurgeon with in-patient hospital rounds and emergency department consultations. Perform first-assistant duties in the operating room. May be required to work flexible hours.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program
  • Hold valid WI APNP or PA license.
  • Other certifications as required.
