About The Position

Seeking a Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) for a Locum Tenens position in Tampa, FL. This inpatient role involves supplemental coverage for a service setting with a 600+ bed facility. The coverage period is ASAP and ongoing, requiring both clinical duties and call responsibilities. The schedule includes 40 hours per week, with a 7 on/7 off rotation for two weeks per month. Call duties involve nights and weekends, with a beeper system and a 1:4/5 ratio. The role includes rounding and covers adult and pediatric patient demographics. The practice consists of 5 Neurosurgeons and 4 Advanced Practice Providers (APPs). The facility has a Trauma Level II and a Pediatric Level II designation. The Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system used is Cerner. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered.

Requirements

• Active FL License
• Board Certified (BC)
• BLS certification
• ACLS certification
• 2 years of experience in Neurosurgery

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical coverage in Neurosurgery.
• Participate in night and weekend call duties (beeper call).
• Perform rounding on patients.
• Manage adult and pediatric neurosurgery patients.
