About The Position

The University of Rochester is seeking a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant for a full-time position in Neurosurgery at Geneva General Hospital. This role is part of a collaborative healthcare team, focusing on the assessment, diagnostic evaluation, and surgical and postoperative care of patients. Responsibilities include consultations in the Emergency Department and on inpatient units, as well as assisting in surgery. The position requires one weekend of call per month. Requirements

Nurse Practitioners: Master's degree as a Nurse Practitioner, active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, active New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing, current national certification as an Nurse Practitioner, RNFA certification or completion of an RN First Assist Course.
Physician Assistants: Completion of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, active New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing, current national certification as a Physician Assistant by NCCPA.
Demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence, and an active desire to learn.

Nice To Haves

Experience in Neurosurgery or Neurology is desired.

Responsibilities

Participate in assessment, diagnostic evaluation, surgical and postoperative care of patients.
Provide consultation in the Emergency Department and on inpatient units.
Assist in surgery.
Participate in the education of learners (students and new employees) using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.
