About The Position
Riverside Medical Group is seeking a full-time Neurosurgeon to join their well-respected team at Riverside Hampton Roads Neurological and Spine Specialists in Newport News, Virginia. This is an opportunity to join one of the largest neurosurgery practices in the region, offering a comprehensive neurological and spine network. The role emphasizes providing the right care at the right time to enhance patient well-being and improve health, aligning with the Riverside Care Difference focused on quality, safety, and service. Candidates of all experience levels are welcome, with a preference for those with experience in high-volume, high-acuity settings. The position is based at Riverside Regional Medical Center, the system's largest hospital, and involves practice at two ambulatory clinic locations. The neuroscience division is supported by a large neurology department with various fellowship-trained specialists.
Requirements
- Licensed Medical Doctor – State of Virginia
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery
- Current DEA
- Residency in Neurosurgery
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- Collaborative approach with other physicians and APPs
- Commitment to safety and quality

Responsibilities
- Perform Spinal Fusions
- Conduct Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery
- Treat Spine tumors or trauma
- Address Spinal stenosis or deformity
- Manage Degenerative Conditions
- Utilize Gamma Knife for Brain tumors or trauma
- Treat Stroke
- Perform Peripheral Nerve procedures
- Conduct Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS)
- Utilize MRI Focused Ultrasound
- Provide guidance to other medical staff
- Work in a fast-paced, busy environment
