About The Position

We are seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Neurosurgeon for a long-term contract opportunity providing comprehensive neurosurgical care to Veterans at a major VA medical center. This is a contract position within a VA healthcare facility and is not a federal VA employee position and does not include VA employee benefits. Requirements

• Doctorate degree.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurological Surgery.

Nice To Haves

• 1+ year of neurological surgery experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide outpatient and inpatient neurosurgical consultations and follow-up care.
• Perform cranial and spinal surgical procedures.
• Provide intraoperative and postoperative care, including SICU and inpatient rounding.
• Conduct bedside consultations for non-ambulatory patients.
• Complete timely documentation in the VA electronic medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement and morbidity & mortality activities.
• Provide patient and family education and discharge planning.
• Provide 24/7 neurosurgical call coverage.
