About The Position
Wellstar Health System is seeking a board-certified/board-eligible Neurosurgeon with a strong interest in acute care neurosurgery to join a high-acuity, multidisciplinary program. This physician will focus on the evaluation and management of emergent and urgent neurosurgical conditions, supporting trauma, stroke, and critical care services across the health system. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced hospital environment, collaborating closely with emergency medicine, trauma surgery, neurology, and intensive care teams to deliver timely, life-saving interventions.
Requirements
- MD or DO from an accredited program
- Completion of accredited neurosurgery residency
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurosurgery
- Eligible for Georgia medical licensure
- Strong communication skills
- Collaborative, program-building mindset

Responsibilities
- Evaluation and management of emergent and urgent neurosurgical conditions.
- Support trauma, stroke, and critical care services.
- Collaborate with emergency medicine, trauma surgery, neurology, and intensive care teams.
- Deliver timely, life-saving interventions.
- Participate in call schedule (7 calls days over a 4 week schedule).
- Shape clinical protocols, referral relationships, and program growth.
