About The Position

Neurosurgeon Patients with brain, spine, and peripheral-nerve disease need a surgeon who decides clearly, operates with precision, and stays accountable through recovery. This role exists to improve survival, neurologic function, and quality of life—not to fill an operating room. You will own the path from first consult to lasting outcome and set the standard the service is known for.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. and completion of an accredited neurosurgery residency.
  • Board certification or active eligibility in neurological surgery, with license and privileging readiness.
  • Independent operative experience in cranial and spinal surgery, including emergency cases you can discuss with outcomes.
  • Current life-support certification and a documented record of safe practice under peer or institutional review.
  • Clear communication with patients, families, and referring clinicians when the news is hard and the timeline is short.

Responsibilities

  • Convert complex cranial and spinal presentations into a clear operative or non-operative plan the patient and care team can act on.
  • Complete elective and emergent procedures with complication rates at or below peer benchmarks and measurable functional gain at follow-up.
  • Lead multidisciplinary review so neurology, oncology, radiology, and rehabilitation agree on one plan before incision.
  • Shorten time-to-OR for hemorrhage, cord compression, and acute hydrocephalus without skipping safety checks.
  • Return results to referring physicians within 48 hours of discharge and grow a referral base built on those results.
  • Teach residents or advanced practice clinicians so coverage and technique stay consistent when you are not in the room.
  • Submit outcome data each quarter and drive at least one change that reduces preventable harm or length of stay.
