About The Position

The Neurosciences Service Line APP Manager partners with physician, operational, nursing, and APP leadership to advance clinical excellence, operational efficiency, and professional practice across the Neurosciences service line. This leader is responsible for developing and supporting the APP workforce while fostering a collaborative environment focused on exceptional patient care, quality outcomes, and continuous professional development. The Neurosciences Service Line APP Manager serves as the operational and clinical leader for APPs within Neurosciences, supporting workforce planning, recruitment and retention, regulatory readiness, quality improvement initiatives, and strategic program development while promoting the core values of Rochester Regional Health.

Requirements

Master's degree in Nursing or Bachelor's/Graduate Certificate in Physician Assistant Studies
Current New York State NP or PA licensure and National Board Certification
Previous leadership or managerial experience required
Minimum three years of APP experience
Collaborative leader with strong relationship-building and conflict resolution skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated clinical leadership experience
Knowledge of APP practice standards, workforce optimization, and quality improvement

Responsibilities

Develops and sustains an environment that supports excellence in APP clinical practice and patient care.
Establishes, implements, and maintains APP best practices, policies, clinical guidelines, and workforce standards.
Evaluates APP staffing models and recommends operational improvements to meet patient care needs.
Supports clinical education, research, evidence-based practice, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Partners with physician, operational, nursing, and APP leadership to optimize APP practice across the service line.
Oversees recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, scheduling, retention, and professional development initiatives.
Provides leadership, coaching, mentoring, performance management, and employee development for APP staff.
Promotes a culture of collaboration, accountability, open communication, and continuous improvement.
Oversees orientation and onboarding for newly hired APPs.
Supports career development for APPs across all stages of practice.
Encourages continuing education, leadership development, and professional growth.
Models Rochester Regional Health values and professional standards.
Leads APP quality initiatives aligned with system goals.
Develops strategies to monitor patient outcomes, APP performance, and operational effectiveness.
Partners with multidisciplinary leaders to improve patient experience, quality metrics, regulatory compliance, and clinical outcomes.
Maintains departmental readiness for accreditation and regulatory surveys.
Ensures APP practice remains compliant with organizational, state, and national standards.
Interprets and implements regulatory requirements across the service line.
Partners with physician and operational leadership on workforce planning, strategic initiatives, and clinical program development.
Assists with management of APP salary budgets and operational resources.
Supports fiscally responsible decision-making while maintaining high-quality patient care.
