About The Position

Corewell Health is seeking a full-time, adult-focused clinical neuropsychologist to join the neuropsychology service as part of the Geriatric Assessment Center and Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation based in Berkley, MI and Royal Oak, MI. This role involves administering psychodiagnostic/neuropsychological evaluations and consultations to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning. The position requires active participation in interdisciplinary staffing to provide input to patient treatment plans and offering family education and input on behavior modification when appropriate. Responsibilities include neuropsychological and psychological assessment (testing, scoring, feedback, report writing) in inpatient and outpatient settings for a broad range of patients including those with neurodegenerative disorders, epilepsy, movement disorders, and TBI/Stroke. The role also includes brief inpatient consultation with medical and rehabilitation teams, patients, and families. Opportunities exist for participation in teaching, research, and quality improvement projects within affiliated residency/fellowship programs, as well as teaching and training clinical psychology practicum students.

Requirements

  • Doctorate Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology.
  • Post-doctoral residency in Clinical Neuropsychology.
  • LIC-Psychologist - STATE_MI State of Michigan Upon Hire required

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates who are ABPP board certified or eligible to become board certified in clinical neuropsychology are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer psychodiagnostic/neuropsychological evaluations and consultations to aid in diagnosis and treatment planning.
  • Actively participate in interdisciplinary staffing to provide input to the patient treatment plan.
  • Provide family education and input on behavior modification when appropriate.
  • Perform neuropsychological and psychological assessment, including testing, scoring, feedback, and report writing, in inpatient and outpatient clinical settings, addressing referral questions for a broad range of patients (including neurodegenerative disorders, epilepsy, movement disorders, and TBI/Stroke).
  • Provide brief inpatient consultation with various medical and rehabilitation teams, as well as patients and families.
  • Participate in teaching, research, and quality improvement projects as part of multiple affiliated residency/fellowship programs.
  • Participate in teaching and training clinical psychology practicum students.
  • Administer psychodiagnostic and neuropsychological evaluations, both inpatient and outpatient to assist in determining individual patient abilities and limitations.
  • Conduct evaluations to include patient and family interviews, test selection, administration of test battery, and review of pertinent medical and school records.
  • Actively consult with staff, physician and family regarding results.
  • Provide family education and problem-solving of wide-ranging issues regarding the relationship between neurological diagnosis and neurocognitive functioning.
  • Work with Scheduling Center and clerical staff to ensure accurate and timely documentation of services provided.
  • Consult with team through regular medical staffings regarding the need for behavioral management services.
  • Establish/develop appropriate interventions, discuss findings with staff/patient/family, and attempt to organize activities within the home setting to ensure proper generalization of modified behavior.
  • Participate in program and professional development.
  • Provide testimony at depositions or trials.
  • Consult with Legal Affairs Department attorneys and staff regarding testimony and release of records.
