About The Position

The Neuropsychological Tech (NT) provides services to patients with various neurobehavioral conditions. This role involves performing routine yet complex procedures while working directly with patients. The NT is responsible for conducting neurobehavioral studies, including neuropsychological and psychological tests, and toxicology screenings. In addition to data acquisition, the NT scores and maintains test data, making it available for interpretation. The position also involves collecting data and maintaining a research database, as well as providing administrative support and data management for Brain to Behavior patients.

Requirements

  • BA, BS or MA, MS Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience or related fields.
  • Previous experience with Neuropsychological /Psychological testing is preferred.
  • 1 year of experience which includes patient contact preferably in the behavioral health environment is required.
  • Must have ability to work with patients of all ages who present with psychiatric conditions.
  • Must have knowledge of windows application and able to learn new programs /applications.
  • Must have basic math skills including understanding of basic statistics.
  • Must be detailed oriented.
  • Adheres to all standards of practice outlines by the APA, State Licensing Board, and other professionally relevant psychological bodies under the direction of the Neuropsychologist

Responsibilities

  • Conducts neuropsychological/physiological tests and toxicology screenings.
  • Consults with neuropsychologist on test battery.
  • Prepares for patients’ arrival, collaborate with referring provider to address, clarify or identify potential issues related to conducting the study.
  • Provides patients with instruction in preparation for the study.
  • Consistently and precisely administers the tests according to the specific instructions.
  • Ensures all appointment data are documented in the patient chart.
  • Maintain, retrieve and deliver data for analysis/interpretation, populate report templates and provide subjective observational data for each study.
  • Attends team didactic and clinical meetings.
  • Maintains professional development.
  • Collecting data and maintaining research database.
  • Ensure data is acquired, processed and ready for interpretation 1-3 days after testing. Inform clinicians when data are ready for interpretation and when feedback is scheduled.
  • Maintain laboratory notebook and source clinical data.
  • Assure that all data are backed up and stored.
  • Maintains patient’s confidentiality.
  • Provide administrative support/data management for Brain to Behavior patients.
  • Assist providers with updating and maintaining neuropsychological/psychological protocols along with ensuring proper inventory including software updates.
  • Explain the Brain to Behavior program, to patients and their families.
