About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity for an EEG Technologist looking to work in a dynamic environment across the EEG lab, bedside, ICU, and Emergency Department settings while supporting highly specialized neurology and critical care teams. Under the supervision of the Chief Technologist, the Neurophysiology EEG Technologist performs routine and advanced EEG procedures on both inpatient and outpatient populations of all ages. This includes bedside ICU monitoring, long-term continuous EEG monitoring, and sleep EEG studies. This role is ideal for candidates seeking hands-on experience in a fast-paced clinical environment with exposure to a wide range of neurological and critical care cases.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an EEG Training Program or Associate Degree Program
  • Minimum 6 months of patient care experience preferred
  • Eligible for ABRET certification within 2 years of hire
  • Ability to perform EEG studies on patients of all ages

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine awake/sleep EEG studies and long-term monitoring
  • Conduct bedside EEGs in ICU and emergency settings
  • Explain procedures and prepare patients/families for testing
  • Monitor recordings and identify normal vs. abnormal activity
  • Recognize and troubleshoot artifacts during studies
  • Apply electrodes using the International 10-20 System
  • Operate EEG equipment and monitoring systems
  • Use activation procedures including: Hyperventilation, Photic stimulation, Sleep protocols
  • Collect patient history and clinical information
  • Enter patient data accurately into reporting systems
  • Prepare technical reports to assist physician interpretation
  • Retrieve and review prior recordings for comparison
  • Troubleshoot and maintain EEG equipment
  • Report major equipment repair needs
  • Maintain laboratory inventory and cleanliness
  • Follow all departmental safety, confidentiality, and quality procedures
