About The Position

HireNow Staffing is recruiting an experienced Neurology Registered Nurse for a direct-placement opportunity with an established hospital in Gainesville, Florida. This position requires a clinically confident nurse who can safely manage a demanding patient assignment in a fast-paced neurological care environment. The selected candidate will be employed directly by the hiring hospital. This is a full-time, permanent position involving three 12-hour shifts per week, with rotating weekends required. Day and night shifts are available, and the nurse-to-patient ratio is up to 7:1. Local candidates within a reasonable commuting distance of Gainesville are required, and candidates living in Ocala will not be considered. Relocation assistance and a potential sign-on bonus of up to $10,000 may be available, subject to eligibility and employer approval.

Requirements

  • Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license: Multistate compact RN license, or Applicable Florida RN license
  • Minimum of one year of professional RN experience
  • Ability and willingness to work three 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends
  • Comfort working with a nurse-to-patient ratio of up to 7:1
  • Residence within a reasonable commuting distance of Gainesville
  • No current or previous disciplinary action against any nursing license
  • Ability to satisfy all employer credentialing, background, health, and onboarding requirements
  • All current and previous RN licenses will be verified through Nursys.
  • Candidates with any history of disciplinary action against a nursing license cannot be submitted.

Nice To Haves

  • Neurology, neuroscience, medical-surgical, telemetry, or comparable acute-care nursing experience
  • Strong neurological assessment and patient-monitoring skills
  • Current BLS certification
  • Experience working in a fast-paced acute-care hospital
  • Strong clinical judgment, communication, and documentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, compassionate nursing care to patients with neurological conditions.
  • Assess patient conditions and promptly communicate significant clinical changes.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments according to provider orders and hospital protocols.
  • Monitor neurological status, vital signs, treatment responses, and potential complications.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, case managers, and other members of the care team.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation.
  • Follow infection-prevention, patient-safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Work effectively with patient assignments of up to seven patients per nurse.
  • Participate in rotating weekend coverage and other scheduling needs.
