About The Position

Bassett Healthcare Network, in central New York, is seeking a full-time Neurologist to build a sub-specialized practice in one of the following areas- Neuromuscular, Seizure, Epilepsy, Movement Disorders or Headache. Join an established group of neurologists in an academic setting with the opportunity to develop a neurology subspecialty program. The role will have an anticipated mix of specialty and general neurology, with at least 50% of the time dedicated to the chosen specialty. The position primarily involves in-person outpatient clinic work with the possibility of some remote tele-neurology. There is an opportunity for an academic appointment at Columbia University and teaching Bassett IM Residents & Columbia-Bassett Medical Students. Tele-Neurology support is available from the University of Rochester. Call is very limited, expected to be 2-4 days per month. The role offers a full spectrum case mix and a diverse patient population within the Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region.

Requirements

MD, DO or MBBS
BC/BE
Completion of an accredited USA Neurology Residency
New York State Licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
BLS Certification Required
Require Stroke experience
DEA Required

Nice To Haves

Reading EEG, and/or performing EMG desirable

Responsibilities

Build a sub-specialized practice in Neuromuscular, Seizure, Epilepsy, Movement Disorders or Headache.
Develop a neurology subspecialty program.
Engage in a mix of specialty and general neurology, with at least 50% of time in specialty.
Conduct mostly in-person outpatient clinic visits with potential for remote tele-neurology.
Provide teaching to Bassett IM Residents & Columbia-Bassett Medical Students.
Participate in limited call (2-4 days per month).
