About The Position

Bassett Healthcare Network, in central New York, is seeking a full-time Neurologist to build a sub-specialized practice in one of the following areas- Neuromuscular, Seizure, Epilepsy, Movement Disorders or Headache. Join an established group of neurologists in an academic setting with the opportunity to develop a neurology subspecialty program. The role involves an anticipated mix of specialty and general neurology, with at least 50% of the time in specialty. The position is mostly in-person outpatient clinic with opportunity for some remote tele-neurology. There is an opportunity for academic appointment at Columbia University and teaching Bassett IM Residents & Columbia-Bassett Medical Students. Inpatient & Outpatient Tele-Neurology support is available from the University of Rochester. Call is very limited, 2-4 days per month. The role offers a full spectrum case mix and diverse patient population, practicing within Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region.

Requirements

MD, DO or MBBS
BC/BE
Completion of an accredited USA Neurology Residency
New York State Licensure (or eligibility to obtain)
BLS Certification Required
Require Stroke experience
DEA Required

Nice To Haves

Reading EEG, and/or performing EMG desirable

Responsibilities

Build a sub-specialized practice in Neuromuscular, Seizure, Epilepsy, Movement Disorders or Headache.

Engage in a mix of specialty and general neurology, with at least 50% of the time in specialty.

Potentially have academic appointment at Columbia University and teach Bassett IM Residents & Columbia-Bassett Medical Students.
Provide neurology support with Inpatient & Outpatient Tele-Neurology from University of Rochester.
Participate in very limited call (2-4 days per month).
Practice within Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region.
