About The Position

Carle Health is seeking additional BE/BC Neurologists to join our growing Neuroscience Institutes in Central Illinois. This opportunity allows for practice in Champaign-Urbana, Bloomington-Normal, or Peoria, Illinois greater areas. The role focuses on General Neurology, with a strong encouragement for candidates with fellowship training in Cognitive Neurology, Neuromuscular Disease, Movement Disorders, or Headache Medicine. The position is based in Magnet® Designated Hospitals including Carle Foundation Hospital, Carle BroMenn Medical Center, and Carle Health Methodist Hospital. These hospitals are recognized for their stroke care certifications and trauma center levels, with Carle Foundation Hospital being the only Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center in a Level I Trauma Center in East Central Illinois. The ambulatory team includes other BC Neurologists, Neurology Advanced Practice Providers, residents, and medical students from the Carle Illinois College of Medicine. Academic and/or research opportunities are available through the Carle Neuroscience Institute, the University of Illinois Beckman Institute, and the Carle Illinois College of Medicine, with potential for academic appointment. The role is part of an integrated neurosciences service line with strong physician-centered management and support from Hospitalist, Critical Care, Neuroradiology, and Neurosurgical teams. The Carle Neuroscience Institute is a Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center and an accredited Level 3 Epilepsy Center. The Carle Illinois College of Medicine is the world's first engineering-based medical school, offering a joint clinical-academic role focused on practicing in a physician-led environment while shaping future physicians. Physicians will contribute to the education of medical students and residents, with protected academic time for clinical research and innovation. This partnership aims to solve real clinical challenges through collaboration with leaders in engineering and data science.
