About The Position

As a Neurology EEG Technician, you will be responsible for neurodiagnostic procedures under the supervision of physicians and clinical supervisors within the Neurology specialty. You will use customer service principles and techniques to deal with patients calmly and pleasantly. You will obtain, verify, and record health history of patients, gathering pertinent health data while reviewing patient's previous records and obtaining any EEG results pertaining to any neurologic diagnosis. This includes faxing outstanding orders, documents, and producing results for provider interpretation and attaching results to order in EMR. You will provide basic patient care as ordered, including pre-test discussion with patients to produce a calm atmosphere to assist in obtaining the best possible test results. You will perform diagnostic EEG procedures, adhere to infection control/safety guidelines and confidentiality policies. This includes assisting in setting up for EMG testing, ordering supplies, and maintaining the EEG machine and testing room. You will promote wellness by communicating physician advice/instructions and communicate with other team members in the clinical and clerical area to provide a successful patient-centered practice. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Diploma through an accredited EEG program.
  • Valid EEG registry certification.
  • CPR/BLS Healthcare Provider Certification within 90 days of employment.
  • Current health records with the appropriate immunizations to work in the health care field (hepatitis B and tuberculosis).
