About The Position

As a Registered EEG Technician, you will perform routine electroencephalographic examinations. In this position, you have an excellent opportunity to utilize your skills alongside expert caregivers to improve treatment experience and outcomes. All the while, you can take advantage of the numerous opportunities available across the Cleveland Clinic Enterprise. A caregiver in this position works evenings from 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m. including every other or every 3rd weekend and every other holiday.

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited EEG Program or an Associate's Degree in Electroneurodiagnostics or related patient care field
  • Registration as an EEG Technician (R.EEG.T)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • One year of experience as an EEG Technician

Responsibilities

  • Select predetermined electrode combinations and observe patients with video recording equipment, ensuring EEG and tape are lined up exactly.
  • Checks focus, lighting and microphone.
  • Abstract relevant information from patient clinical record and obtain additional information.
  • Perform electroencephalographic examinations on patients.
  • Schedule and organize special procedure tests, angiography, X-ray studies, etc.
  • Serve as an instructor for new personnel and prepare new personnel for successful completion of registry exams.
  • Provide training in the interpretation of EEG recordings, applications and the academics of EEG technology.
  • Maintain equipment in clean operating condition and perform proper maintenance.
