Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree
- Prior experience in neurology, neurosurgery, internal medicine, or another specialty.
- Three (3) years of experience in a healthcare setting with scheduling, coordination, or care navigation.
Responsibilities
- Act as a primary point of contact between neurology providers and other departments across LMG and Northside.
- Coordinate care pathways involving LMG departments, infusion center, imaging, neuropsychology, primary care, and hospital teams.
- Assist in supporting neurology providers to ensure POD support is appropriate for complex neurology patients.
- Manage/Oversee: batch ordering and scheduling cadence of MRIs associated with complex infusion treatment protocols.
- Ensure MRI timing aligns with infusion protocols and provider requirements.
- Track results and communicate abnormal findings to appropriate clinicians.
- Coordinate post-infusion follow-ups to occur within required timeframes.
- Facilitate specialized testing workflows (Amyloid PET, LP, PrecivityAD testing).
- Educate patients on the testing/treatment processes
- Oversee scheduling post-hospital neurology visits in accordance with TOC guidelines.
- Serve as the liaison between inpatient neurology and outpatient clinic teams.
- Track high-risk patients to ensure timely outpatient follow-up and continuity of care.
- Manage EMG waitlists and proactively fill cancellations to optimize provider schedules.
- Coordinate with technicians and neurophysiology providers to ensure efficient procedural flow.
- Ensuring all offices follow similar workflow and guidelines regarding skin biopsy testing, specimen handling, and managing test results
- Communicate prep instructions to patients and coordinate insurance verification is completed.
- Oversee centralized system for prior authorizations and other patient paperwork including Botox program oversight.
- Track deadlines and ensure timely completion by designated staff or providers
