About The Position

Inova Neurology is seeking a dedicated Neurologist to join their team in a General Neurology role at their Alexandria outpatient Neurology clinic. Subspecialty interests in EMG, sleep medicine, or epilepsy can be accommodated and supported. This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance. Inova Neurology provides patients with the highest level of care relating to diagnostic, treatment, and research services for neurological and related disorders. Their physicians are board-certified in various specialties including neurology, clinical neurophysiology, sleep medicine, internal medicine, electroencephalography, vascular neurology, and electrodiagnostic medicine. Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Neurology required
  • Current, unrestricted license to practice medicine in the Commonwealth of Virginia (required upon start)
  • Ability to successfully complete the credentialing process by third-party payors
  • Ability to be enrolled as a CMS Medicare/Medicaid payor
  • Successful completion of credentialing for Medical Staff membership and appropriate clinical privileges sufficient to perform all required services

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive neurological evaluations, including initial assessments and ongoing monitoring of patients’ conditions
  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of neurological disorders through evidence-based medical practices
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to patient needs
  • Prescribe medications and order/interpret diagnostic tests and procedures
  • Coordinate and authorize specialty referrals and ancillary services as needed
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams through case conferences and care coordination efforts
  • Maintain effective consultative relationships with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation staff, and other healthcare professionals
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives and studies to advance neurological care
  • Contribute to preventive health programs, including screenings, immunizations, and community outreach efforts
  • Provide clinical education and mentorship to medical students, residents, and other trainees
  • Deliver in-service training and educational sessions for clinical staff
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
