About The Position

The Department of Neurology at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine is seeking candidates at the Assistant/Associate/Professor level to serve as Neurologist. This is an opportunity to join a new academic Neurology department and practice, aiming to establish new standards of medical care and provide unparalleled clinical and research services. Clinical activities will include attending duties in neurology clinics and inpatient services at the University Medical Center, a community level 1 trauma hospital. Teaching responsibilities involve instructing medical students, mentoring graduate students and trainees, training residents, fellows, and medical students, and teaching continuing education programs. Candidates will have the opportunity to develop a research program integrated into clinical activities. Faculty positions are available in General Neurology, Critical Care Neurology, Epilepsy, Multiple Sclerosis, Movement Disorders, and Neuromuscular Disorders. The candidate's educational credentials, terminal degree, and experience in an academic medical institution will determine the recommended rank. Tenure considerations may be given upon hire based on verified credentials, FAPT recommendation, and the SOM Dean’s recommendation.

Requirements

  • MD/DO or equivalent degree.
  • Completion of residency from an ACGME accredited program prior to starting employment.
  • Board eligible/certified in Neurology.
  • If board eligible, must obtain board certification within two years of employment.
  • Eligibility for an unrestricted Nevada medical license.
  • Eligibility for malpractice insurance.
  • Must be able to be successfully credentialed by UNLV Medicine affiliated hospitals and/or clinics.

Responsibilities
