About The Position
This is a Locum Tenens position for a Neurologist specializing in Pediatric Epilepsy. The role involves providing 24-hour coverage for the inpatient pediatric epilepsy service, managing patients in the epilepsy monitoring unit, and interpreting inpatient and outpatient EEGs. The position requires active South Carolina medical licensure and board certification or eligibility in Neurology (ABPN). The physician will work with an average of 19 patients per day, including inpatient and outpatient EEGs, and 4-6 epilepsy monitoring unit patients per week. The coverage period is from November 2, 2026, to November 9, 2026, with 24-hour shifts. Travel, lodging, and malpractice insurance are covered. The facility uses the Epic EMR system.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology (ABPN)
- Active SC medical license required
- Residency trained in Neurology required
- Must have SC license in hand for credentialing
Responsibilities
- Provide 24-hour coverage for inpatient pediatric epilepsy service, including day shifts and nightly call.
- Manage patients in the epilepsy monitoring unit (average 4-6 per week).
- Interpret all inpatient and outpatient EEGs (approximately 8 inpatient and 10 outpatient daily).
- Complete hospital modules and EPIC personalization per facility requirements.
- Coordinate with the epilepsy team and ensure continuity of care.
