The Neurodiagnostic Technologist performs technically adequate and interpretable EEG’s, EP’s, and NCV’s on a wide variety of patients, including outpatients and inpatients ranging in age from pediatric patients six years of age and up to geriatrics. This role also assists the Neurologist with EMG testing. The technologist is responsible for maintaining Neurology laboratories and equipment, ensuring they are functioning safely and at the required quality control level, including performing machine calibrations and maintenance as per policy. Communication with neurologists, other physicians, and nursing staff is essential. The role also involves assisting with routine scheduling, coordinating with the Lead Neurodiagnostic Technologist, ordering necessary supplies, accurately entering charges into the hospital order control system, completing required documentation and testing reports, and staying knowledgeable of current Standards of Care and Departmental Policy and Procedures.
