About The Position

Sanford Health, the largest rural health system in the United States, is dedicated to transforming the health care experience and providing access to world-class health care in America’s heartland. Join a busy team of professionals testing inpatients and outpatients in ages varying from neonate to geriatric. This position is looking for someone that possesses the characteristics of being a self starter, flexibility and ability to work with a wide variety of people. After orientation the position will include shifts of daytime, evening and overnight. On Call is part of the position, shared between all employees. Responsible for performing procedures or testing for all patient populations.

Requirements

• High school diploma or its equivalent is required.
• Completion of department approved training program is required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.

Nice To Haves

• Graduated from an approved program of Electroneurodiagnostic Technology (ENDT) or similar education is preferred.
• Working knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, basic electronics and electrical safety, general knowledge of electroencephalography (EEG) and evoked potentials (EP) instrumentation, pattern recognition, and various medical and pharmacological conditions is preferred.
• Experience in area of specialty or applicable health care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Understands the testing equipment in detail, including its structure, function, indications for use, physiological effect upon the patient, and basic maintenance procedures.
• Understands and is able to apply principles of anatomy and physiology, normal and abnormal, related to procedures performed.
• Possesses working knowledge of the disease and pathological conditions encountered.
• May perform intraoperative monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction and/or electroencephalography (EEG) testing for patients.
