About The Position

This position is a unique and highly competitive opportunity to enter the specialized field of Neurophysiology through a fully paid, accredited Neurodiagnostic Training Program. The program combines comprehensive didactic coursework with hands-on clinical experience designed to prepare trainees for a successful career in Neurodiagnostic Technology. Selected candidates will complete an intensive 12-month training curriculum that includes both classroom instruction and supervised clinical training. Participants must demonstrate a strong commitment to learning, successfully complete weekly examinations, and maintain satisfactory academic and clinical progress throughout the program. Upon successful graduation, trainees will transition into a Neurodiagnostic Technologist role and are required to fulfill a two-year work commitment. This program requires motivated, self-directed individuals who thrive in a fast-paced learning environment and are dedicated to providing exceptional patient care. While training is primarily conducted on a day-shift schedule, graduates must be flexible regarding long-term shift placement and departmental staffing needs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED required. Associate's Degree preferred.
  • 0-3 years of experience required.
  • May require ABRET registry in EEG, EP or CNIM within 24 months of hire or eligibility per the ABRET pathway guide based on department requirements.
  • Requires current BLS certification.
  • Requires the ability to meet all requirements of laboratory competencies in which a Registry is held.
  • Requires initiative towards the application of tests and modifies established protocols to fit patient needs.
  • Requires manual dexterity, visual acuity and the ability to concentrate for extended amounts of time under stressful conditions in order to properly and effectively administer Neurophysiological monitoring and testing.
  • Requires the ability to recognize neurological comprising conditions and communicate those conditions to assure appropriate actions are taken.

Responsibilities

  • Will provide Neurophysiological testing and monitoring in clinical settings.
  • Accurately applies electrodes to patient.
  • Records impulse frequencies and differences in electrical potential between various areas of the brain to obtain data for use in diagnosis of brain disorders.
  • Documents unusual wave characteristics shown on tracings.
