About The Position

A Neurophysiology Technologist is responsible for providing accurate, high-quality Neurodiagnostic testing. For this EEG-focused position, primary responsibilities include routine and extended EEG testing and support of inpatient and/or long-term EEG monitoring. Responsibilities may include electrode application and maintenance, troubleshooting technical issues, recognition and escalation of significant clinical or electrographic events, documentation, and collaboration with physicians and other members of the care team. The incumbent must meet competency requirements appropriate to the assigned area of practice. Depending on departmental needs and the technologist's training and competencies, Neurodiagnostic services may include Electroencephalography (EEG), EMG including Nerve Conduction Studies, Evoked Potentials/QST, Autonomic studies, or IOM. This position may be required to provide coverage at either Mayo Clinic in Arizona Phoenix or Scottsdale locations and may participate in the EEG call rotation. As our Mayo Clinic Neurology department continues to grow in innovation, education, and technology, we are looking for amazing Neurodiagnostic Technologists to join our team. This position can be filled by a Tech I, II or III. Final job level will be determined based on the selected candidate's education, experience, credentials, and demonstrated competencies.

Requirements

• Tech I Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and completion of Mayo Clinic’s Neurotech Trainee program; Or, Formal NDT education and a minimum of one (1) year of Neurodiagnostics experience, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NTD education program; Or, Graduate from a CAAHEP accredited NDT program, and a minimum of one (1) year of Neurodiagnostics experience, which may include previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NTD education program; Or, Associate’s degree in Neurodiagnostics from an accredited college or university and a minimum of one (1) year of Neurodiagnostics experience.
• Tech II Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Completion of formal NDT education from an educational institution in coordination with a hospital and three (3) years of Neurodiagnostics experience, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NTD education program; Or, Graduate from a CAAHEP accredited NDT program and three (3) years of Neurodiagnostics experience, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NTD education program; OR, Associate’s degree in Neurodiagnostics from an accredited college or university with three (3) years of experience in Neurodiagnostics, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NTD education program; OR, Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum of three (3) years of Neurodiagnostics experience.
• Tech III Qualifications: High school diploma or GED required. Completion of formal NDT education from an educational institution in coordination with a hospital and five (5) years of Neurodiagnostics experience, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NDT program; OR, Graduate from a CAAHEP accredited NDT program and five (5) years of Neurodiagnostics experience, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NDT program; OR, Associate’s degree in a Neurosciences related field/subject from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of Neurodiagnostics experience, which includes previous clinical experience while attending a CAAHEP accredited NDT program or formal NDT program; OR, Bachelor’s degree in Neurosciences related field/subject from an accredited college or university and three (3) years of Neurodiagnostics experience; OR, Master's Degree in Neurosciences or related field, within 12 months of hire, and two (2) years of Neurophysiology experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required upon hire and must be valid for 90 days or greater from start date.
• Must be registered in one of the following based upon scope of work: REEGT, RNCST, or CAP (for Tech I).
• Must be registered in one of the following based upon scope of work: REEGT, RNCST, CNCT, or CAP (for Tech II).
• Must be registered in one (1) of the following at time of hire: REEGT, RNCST, or CNIM (for Tech III).
• If supporting the IONM program, and the candidate has a Bachelor's degree or higher degree the advanced credential CNIM (e.g., NIMT) is required.

Nice To Haves

• Possession of more than one credential is preferred (for Tech II).
• REEGT required or preferred based on level and scope of practice (for Tech II).
• CLTM and/or demonstrated long-term EEG monitoring experience preferred for positions supporting continuous or long-term monitoring (for Tech II).
• For technologists assigned to long-term EEG monitoring, CLTM and/or substantial long-term monitoring experience is preferred (for Tech III).
• Additional multi-credentials preferred (for Tech III if supporting IONM program with Bachelor's degree or higher).
