This position supports Mercy's philosophy of patient centered care by providing Neurodiagnostic testing to inpatients to include EEG testing. The Neurodiagnostic Technician performs routine and portable EEGs in accordance with current protocols on all age groups. They document patient information on appropriate medical records and forms, review each exam for technical accuracy, and present the completed exam to the appropriate physician. The technician also communicates the exam report to the patient's physician/caregiver when indicated and participates in a call rotation for evening and weekend coverage for emergent Neurodiagnostic services. This role also ensures that all accurate and clinically relevant information is communicated with patients, their families, and co-workers at handoffs and other times as needed, taking all measures necessary to ensure that the appropriate and involved parties have communicated necessary information in order to allow for the best possible patient outcome. The technician follows Mercy's safety guidelines, carries out job-specific safety duties and responsibilities, and promptly reports any unsafe conditions, situations, incidents, and injuries.
