The Neurodiagnostic Technician Trainee Program is an innovative on-the-job training program and will be 12 months in length. You will learn to perform many tests that diagnose problems with the brain and nervous system, as well as sleep disorders. As a trainee, you will use state-of-the-art digital equipment to record electrical patterns throughout the brain and nervous system, which result in valuable data needed to diagnose and treat conditions like epilepsy, seizure disorders, strokes, degenerative brain disease, and more. You will learn to perform procedures on all ages, assist in identifying patient and family learning needs and provide pertinent information to the patient and/or family in a manner that can be easily understood by them. The program is ideal for individuals seeking entry-level clinical experience and a pathway into allied health professions. Upon successful completion of the program, you will be assigned to work 40 hours per week at one of the VUMC locations.
