About The Position

This position involves performing a combination of routine Electroencephalography (EEG), Electromyography (EMG), long-term and intraoperative monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction velocities, autonomic testing, Neuro Interventional radiology WADA and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) studies. The role serves patients of all ages in various settings including the laboratory, bedside, and critical care units. Additional duties include charge capture and patient scheduling. The technician may also be required to float to other sites to ensure optimal department operations.

Requirements

  • Competent and able to perform EEG-LTM-EMU plus one other Modality either EP, EMG, MEG or AUT, OR have their R. EEG T.
  • Ability to perform Electroencephalography (EEG), in addition to 1 or more of the following Nerve Conduction Velocity Testing (EMG/NCV), Autonomics, Long Term Monitoring, Evoked Potentials or Magnetoencephalography.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) or an AHA approved equivalent is required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience is preferred.
  • 2+ years of proven experience as a Neurodiagnostic Technician is preferred.
  • Proven ability to perform Electroencephalography, in addition to 1 or more of the following: Nerve Conduction Velocity Testing, Autonomics, Long Term Monitoring, Evoked Potentials or Magnetoencephalography.
  • Graduate of an accredited Neurodiagnostic Technology program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalography E Evoked Potentials (ABRET).
  • Registered by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic and Evoked Potential Technologists (ABRET) in a minimum of 1 of the following: Registered Electroencephalography Technologist (EEG), Registered Nerve Conduction Velocity Testing(EMG/NCV), Certified Autonomic Professional (CAP), Certified Long Term Monitoring Technologist (CLTM), Registered Evoked Potential Technologist.

Responsibilities

  • Perform EEG-LTM-EMU plus one other Modality either EP, EMG, MEG or AUT.
  • Prepare patients for routine Electroencephalography (EEG), Electromyography (EMG), long-term and intraoperative monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction velocities, autonomic testing, Neuro Interventional radiology WADA and Positron Emission Tomography (PET) including diagnostic and investigative studies.
  • Perform studies in the laboratory, at the bedside, and in critical care units, on all ages of patients.
  • Perform charge capture.
  • Schedule patients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Float to other sites to ensure optimal department operations.
