This position is responsible for performing routine, extended, and continuous EEG procedures in the EMU, as well as Neurosonology procedures in clinic and inpatient hospital settings. The technician will apply electrodes accurately, educate patients and families, monitor patients during EEG testing, and document clinical and electrographic changes. The role involves reviewing and editing EEG files, demonstrating knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, and medical conditions affecting neurodiagnostic procedures, and ensuring patient safety and equipment maintenance. The technician will also assist with advanced procedures and participate in departmental learning activities.
