About The Position

LCMC Health is seeking a nurse for a hands-on, diverse role in the Neuro ICU. The nurse provides patient-centered care, coordinating and delegating care activities while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. The role emphasizes safe, compassionate care, effective communication with patients and families, continuity of care, and support for an exceptional patient experience.

Requirements

Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana, as defined by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
Current PALS certification.

Responsibilities

Prioritize, coordinate, and delegate care touchpoints for assigned patients.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to ensure appropriate direct patient care.
Maintain and advocate for a safe environment.
Monitor and communicate with patients, families, and appropriate care team members about significant events, changes in patient condition, and questions or concerns.
Prevent and treat wounds.
Monitor and carry out Joint Commission infection control and environment-of-care requirements.
Ensure continuity of care, efficient throughput, consistent communication, and an exceptional patient experience.
Consult with a supervisor when unable to complete assignments or perform tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.
Initiate patient and family education using appropriate resources and continuum-of-care services.
Assist team members without being asked.
