About The Position

The Networking Cable Installer works in the Facility Management Division in Daytona Beach, Florida. The position installs, troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces electronic systems in County of Volusia facilities, structures, and buildings, with little or no supervision. The role may require work on call and responding to emergencies, assignment to other county locations based on operational needs, and assistance to electricians, IT, and other facilities personnel.

Requirements

Completion of the eighth grade.
Four years of progressively responsible experience in electrical maintenance and repair.
Ability to install, troubleshoot, repair, and replace electronic systems with little or no supervision.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma.
At least five years of experience installing, troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing electronic systems.
Electronic or electrical certification or license.
Experience with Gallagher access systems, ONSSI Ocularis technology, fire alarm systems, and National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.

Responsibilities

Plans for and performs installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of electronic equipment.
Oversees and maintains electronic equipment and control devices.
Maintains an inventory of repair parts.
Reviews electronic contract specifications.
Plans for integration of new electronic systems.
Plans cable wiring and fiber optics installations.
Troubleshoots electronic equipment and repairs or replaces components as needed.
Keeps records concerning electronic equipment.
Assists with electrician duties.
Cross-trains with and assists other facilities personnel as needed.
Assists the IT department with electronic planning, repair, and cable installation.
Works on call and responds to emergency situations as needed.
May be assigned to other county locations based on operational needs.
Attends work on a regular and consistent basis.
Adheres to federal, state, county, and local ordinances.
Performs other duties as assigned.
