About The Position

As NFM’s Network Voice Engineer I, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of in-house voice and network infrastructure that support core organizational functions. This is achieved through the installation, configuration and maintenance of Voice over IP systems and platforms (e.g., voice, data, wireless, etc.). This position requires the candidate to reside in NE, IA, KS, MO, or TX. Final candidates will be required to come on-site prior to receiving an offer or on their first day of employment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in IT related field or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in general IT tech role, including Help Desk, Endpoint Support, or Web Support required
  • Knowledge of current software protocols, and Internet standards, including TCP/IP, SIP, DNS, NAT, FTP, Network, and Security Protocols, etc.
  • Knowledge of installing, configuring, and maintaining all manners of server hardware, end user devices and associated network equipment
  • Competence with testing, flowchart, and data mapping tools and procedures, including Microsoft Visio
  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
  • Ability to obtain additional certifications required by management
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, early morning hours based on business needs
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in VoIP, network, or systems administration or engineering preferred
  • CompTIA Network + or Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) strongly desired
  • Working knowledge of network and PC operating systems, including Microsoft Windows Servers, AIX, UNIX or Linux a plus
  • Knowledge of VoIP implementation and support in Cisco Unified Communication, PCCE, WebEx Calling and Contact Center

Responsibilities

  • Ensure voice platform stability through Installation, setup, and configuring complex physical and virtual machines, routers, and security appliances for access to vital business applications
  • Investigate system problems and outages, scheduling upgrades and collaborating with Infrastructure technical leads and subject matter experts to maximize voice platform performance
  • Maximize voice platform performance by monitoring voice metrics, user experience, and peripheral system uptime; provide proactive support to identify and remediate platform issues prior to impacting user experience
  • Report voice platform operational status to leadership by gathering and prioritizing information
  • Uphold and enhance job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organizations
