About The Position

A client of Innova Solutions is immediately hiring for a Network Technician. This is a Full Time - Contract role with a duration of 6 Months, located in San Francisco, CA. As a Network Technician, you will be responsible for patching cabling between network equipment and customer’s network, installing power cables from equipment to power supply in rack/cabinet/closet, and installing, troubleshooting, and de-installing network equipment. You will also install/swap out devices (e.g., phone, computers, cables, boards, edge routers, switches and etc.), and install, troubleshoot, and de-install Network General remote Sniffers. The role involves completing all hard and complex Move, Add Change (MAC) requests within the defined service levels, acting as an interface between customer’s associates and management, and providing hardware break-fix services for network infrastructure. Additionally, you will perform onsite call-through, data, voice, website and security testing, and back-up testing to ensure all systems are connected to the customer’s network as directed.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in data communications.
  • Basic knowledge of Cisco Phones, switches and routers
  • Basic knowledge of local and wide area networking.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficient in utilizing technical tools such as Sniffers, BERT testers, cable testers, and fiber testers.
  • Familiar with 66 Block and 110 Block cross connect procedures.
  • Understand cable patching processes and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Patching cabling between network equipment and customer’s network.
