Network Technician

About The Position

The Network Technician will be responsible for responding to and resolving help desk tickets related to wired and wireless network issues, network account onboarding and offboarding, and infrastructure-related incidents. This role includes participating in an on-call support rotation for both Level 1 and Level 2 critical site support. Additionally, the technician will assist in network rollouts, upgrades, cleanup efforts, and infrastructure improvements, including documentation and inventory of network assets. The position also requires providing support for Microsoft administrative tasks such as Entra ID management, group policy, user provisioning, and Microsoft 365 administration, as well as basic server administration tasks like Windows Server maintenance, monitoring, performance tuning, and patch management.

Requirements

  • 5 Years of experience with Microsoft Entra ID and general Microsoft administration
  • 5 years of experience with Windows Server environments
  • 10 years of experience in troubleshooting skills in networking (wired/wireless)
  • 5+ years experience responding to help desk requests via ticketing system
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Deskpro ticketing system
  • Experience with Active Directory, DNS, and Group Policy
  • Experience with Ruckus/Brocade network switches

Responsibilities

  • Respond to and resolve help desk tickets related to wired and wireless network issues.
  • Perform network account onboarding and offboarding via custom scripts.
  • Address infrastructure-related incidents.
  • Provide Level 1 On-Call Support every 3 weeks for critical site support (Network outages).
  • Provide Level 2 On-Call Support every 3 weeks (alternating with Level 1) for escalated issues at critical sites.
  • Assist in network rollouts, upgrades, and cleanup efforts.
  • Participate in planning and execution of infrastructure improvements.
  • Support documentation and inventory of network assets.
  • Provide support for Microsoft administrative tasks, including Entra ID (Azure AD) management, Group policy and user provisioning, and Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Assist with server administration tasks, including basic Windows Server maintenance, monitoring and performance tuning, and patch management and updates.
