About The Position

This role is for a Network & Systems Security Analyst with a utilities company. The position is a 6-month contract, on-site in Tampa, FL, requiring M-F work from 9 am to 6 pm. The analyst will be responsible for planning, designing, and implementing network, server, and storage infrastructure, troubleshooting issues using the OSI model, and installing/configuring hardware and software to meet security standards. The role may involve project leadership and mentoring junior analysts.

Requirements

  • Must be USC or GC permanent resident.
  • Has obtained at least one associate and one senior level certification (e.g., MCSA, MCSE, VCP, CCNA, CCNP, CEH, GIAC Certifications, CISSP).
  • 4-6 years of related hands-on experience implementing and maintaining Windows servers, VMware, firewall support, Storage Area Networks, Cisco Networking.
  • Ability to support existing server and network infrastructure.
  • Intermediate knowledge of network or server infrastructure regardless of the complexity.
  • Supports the following technologies: switching, routing, DNS/DHCP, Windows Active Directory, VMware, hardware installation and maintenance, firewall support, and cyber security best practices.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, or equivalent IT discipline (MIS).
  • CCNA, VCP, CISSP, or MCSA certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and implement network, server, and storage infrastructure based on project requirements, capacity plans, and system support.
  • Problem solving involves basic troubleshooting following the OSI (Open Systems Interconnection) model, making or calling for equipment repairs, and problem escalation.
  • Consulting on small project design and plans.
  • May serve as a project lead and mentor Level 1 Network & Systems Security Analyst.
  • Works under general supervision.
  • Monitors, troubleshoots, diagnoses, and remedies server and network related problems and failures.
  • Installs and configures server and network related hardware/software which meet the company’s security standards.
  • Design and planning required for small projects.
  • Project leadership, consulting, or cross-train peers.
