About The Position

The Network Systems Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, operation, and optimization of enterprise network infrastructure. This role ensures the reliability, performance, and security of LAN, WAN, wireless, and cloud-connected networks while supporting business-critical systems and services. The engineer collaborates with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver scalable and secure network solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• 4+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering or network systems administration
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, and switching
• Experience with enterprise networking equipment (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto)
• Proficiency in network troubleshooting tools and techniques
• Experience with firewall and VPN technologies
• Familiarity with network monitoring and management tools
• Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless systems
• Monitor network performance, availability, and capacity; proactively identify and resolve issues
• Troubleshoot complex network problems across on premises, hybrid, and cloud environments
• Implement and manage network security controls, including firewalls, VPNs, segmentation, and access controls
• Support data center, campus, and remote site connectivity
• Participate in network architecture planning and technology lifecycle management
• Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and configuration standards
• Collaborate with systems, security, and application teams to support infrastructure initiatives
• Assist with incident response, root cause analysis, and post incident reviews
• Evaluate and recommend new networking technologies and best practices
• Provide escalation support and mentorship to junior engineers as needed
