About The Position

Visionist is seeking a Systems Administrator to join their small IT team and support headquarter operations. This role involves working with various technologies and systems across multiple locations within the building, supporting operations staff, as well as prime and subcontractor staff on site. The ideal candidate will have a can-do attitude, willingness to learn, and a desire for hands-on tasks like running cables, setting up desks, and racking equipment. Requirements

  • Active Top Secret (TS/SCI) clearance with polygraph is required
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline. (Additional 4 years of experience may substitute degree)
  • 5 years of experience in systems administration
  • Experience with Linux and/or Windows
  • Experience designing, building, and setting up an environment from the ground up
  • Experience with switching and routing
  • Experience with virtualization (VmWare)
  • Experience with AWS and/or Azure, as well as with GCCHigh
  • Experience with storage systems
  • Experience supporting multiple users at one time, as well as experience using a Jira ticketing system
  • Familiarity with CMMC (NIST SP 800-171) requirements
  • This position requires the ability to lift and transport equipment weighing up to 50 pounds as part of routine system maintenance and hardware installations. Candidates should be comfortable performing physical tasks associated with physical IT infrastructure support
  • U.S citizenship required (green card holders and permanent residents are not eligible)
  • Applicants selected will be required to obtain / maintain a government security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, configure, and support the reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization in both unclassified and classified spaces
  • Respond to help desk tickets, install and upgrade computer components and software, manage virtual servers, and integrate automation processes
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors, document problems and resolutions, and assess the impact of issues
  • Perform backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Support capacity, storage planning, database performance, and emerging CMMC L2 and NIST 800-171 compliance measures
