About The Position

The Kenjya-Trusant Group is seeking a System Engineer to support a Maryland Customer for cross-domain solutions. This role involves applying systems engineering principles throughout the entire systems life cycle, from concept to retirement. The engineer will interact with the Government on technical considerations, problems, issues, and conflicts, and communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. Responsibilities include ensuring the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work and deliverables related to various process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288, covering Technical, Project, Enterprise, and Agreement processes. The role also involves assisting in developing new approaches to technical issues, evaluating their suitability for project implementation, and supervising or coordinating the work of other contractor engineers or technicians.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Required Security Clearance: TS/SCI w/ Poly.
  • High School diploma with twenty-five (25) years of experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity OR Bachelor’s degree with twenty (20) years of experience.
  • Education must be in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
  • Networking skills: Vendors: Cisco, Juniper, Ciena, Palo Alto, Semantic, Broadcom, Dell, AWS, Azure, google cloud platform, Technologies: Linux, SD-WAN, SDN, VPN, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, SNMP, Wireshark, SolarWinds, Putty, Python, Bash
  • Five (5) years’ experience with VMware architecture, Installation and configuration.
  • Five (5) years’ experience with facilitating failover with VMotion.
  • Five (5) years’ experience with implementing rollback capability.
  • Five (5) years’ experience with VMware template library.
  • Five (5) years’ experience with Central Remote Management capability.
  • Five (5) years’ experience with configuration Management.
  • Five (5) years’ experience with leveraging VMware’s monitoring capability.
  • Qualified engineering fields include : Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management.
  • Related disciplines include: Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Physics.

Nice To Haves

  • Testing and Linux Systems administration experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Applies systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement.
  • Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts.
  • Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
  • Responsibility for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by ISO/IEC15288.
  • Technical Process Area - Stakeholder Requirements Definition, Requirements Analysis, Architectural Design, Implementation, Integration, Verification, Transition, Validation, Operation, Maintenance, and Disposal.
  • Project Process Area - Project Planning, Project Assessment and Control, Decision Management, Risk Management, Configuration Management, Information Management, and Measurement.
  • Enterprise (Organizational Project-Enabling) Process Area -Project Portfolio Management, Infrastructure Management, Lifecycle Model Management, Human Resource Management, and Quality Management.
  • Agreement Process Area - Acquisition and Supply.
  • Assist in developing a new or innovative approach to a technical or engineering issue.
  • Assist in conducting an evaluation to determine its suitability for project implementation.
  • Supervise or coordinate the work of other contractor engineers or technicians on a project.
